Today was my birthday, and it was the greatest day of my life. I started the day by finishing up my English homework before heading out to Speedzone to spend the day with Danielle, Karen, Sarah and Jacob. We played mini golf, but it got way too hot so we went in and Jacob and I speant forever playing this trivia game before Push Play got there for the acoustic show they were doing.

After a while, I saw Melissa. She’s the mother of a friend of mine, and she works at Speedzone. Later in the night, after Karen, Joyce (who came later) and I hung out with Steven and Louie from 104.3 FM, the Push Play boys got there and set up to play. I was looking at Melissa’s camera, and she gave it to me and told me to go take pictures. So I took her camera and went to take pictures.

Her camera died after a bit, so I just stood and watched with Karen. And Karen, of course, tells Derek it was my birthday, and then he told CJ. They then started talking about how Derek loves Kelly Rippa…then played ‘Hot ‘N Cold’ by Katy Perry…then after they had everyone sing me ‘Happy Birthday’… It was awesome. I then got Melissa’s camera back and started taking pictures again, and at the end of the set, CJ gave me his pick, since it was my birthday.

The guys then did a meet & greet, and instead of me waiting in line…I stood on the sides and took pictures while sometimes exchanging words with CJ. I got some funny pictures of the guys, and Nick had me show CJ. The guys then went into their ‘green room’, and Karen and I got to go in since I was still taking pictures. Yeah, Karen and I were in the green room with the band and staff…just so I could take some pictures with a camera I didn’t even own.

After a while of being in there, the boys and their crew went out to the Slick Track to race some Go-Carts, and I got to go in with them and stand on the side to take pictures. Watching them race was scary…CJ is a very reckless driver, and Derek is pretty safe. After they finished racing, secruity got the band, and Karen and I past the girls waiting for them, and back into the green room. We talked for a few minutes and I took pictures while Nick, CJ and Steve talked about the race, and Derek was off on his iPhone. The guys left a bit later, and kept calling me Kelly Rippa…Derek’s cougar crush.

Today, I got to be what I want to be: A photographer. CJ told me I had to come to their release show, since I have meet and greet passes. I’m hoping I can go.

All in all, today was the greatest day of my life, and I can’t wait for this to happen again.

I start my freshman year on Monday. It’s mixed feelings. I’m so excited to be starting somewhere new with people and faces I haven’t seen. But at the same time, I’m scared of those things. I barley have classes with my friends and it’s going to be a scary thing to have six classes a day with people I hardly know. It was a bittersweet feeling to leave middle school. So many bad and good memories were made there, and I just wanted to leave the bad ones and move on, but coming back for the good memories will have the ones I left racing back.

My birthday is coming up. I’ll be going to an acoustic show with some friends. It’ll be the first time in a while that I’ve done something for my birthday.

As my summer comes to an end, I have to say I’m a bit sad. This is the best summer I’ve had in a while, and that’s a strange thing for me. I’ve always hated summer with a passion, but having friends to share it with this year was a nice thing.

Planning out a photoshoot I’m going to be doing with Karen in a few weeks. It won’t happen till after school starts, but we got the concept down, what we need and where we’re going to do it. Not sure on the time yet, but it will happen! I’m so excited for it. It’s going on my Flickr and probably here, as well. Not spilling any secrets but here’s a little teaser.

I had surgery this morning. Not fun. I had to be there at 6:30am so I got up around 5:40. I went to the place and fell asleep in the waiting room listening to VersaEmerge. I was taken to the place where they get my IV and everything done. I changed into my hospital gown thingy and and got into my bed. My nurse lady was trying to find a vein to stick my IV in and they couldn’t find one. It was aggravting. Then I was given my ‘relaxing drug’ which was my anaesthesia, and after I was taken to the operating room and moved to another table. That’s all I remember before waking up a few hours later. Then I drank some juice I think…or I was imagining it. I came home and crashed on the couch for a few hours then woke up and had some clam chowder. Now I’m chilling and doing nothing. So fun…
